This plan takes 15 to 20 minutes a day. Expect your speed to drop in the first week while your fingers learn new positions. That is normal, and it recovers fast. Everything below is free on TypePlay.
Day 1: measure, then start
Take the words test once and note your WPM and accuracy. Then open the first lesson: keys F and J.
Days 2 to 7: the home row
Work through the home row lessons, one or two a day. Finish each session with five minutes of Balloon Blaster or Key Pop. Goal: the whole home row without looking, at 95% accuracy.
Days 8 to 14: top and bottom rows
Move on to the top row and bottom row. Every reach starts and ends on the home row. On day 14, retake the words test. You may still be near your starting speed, but you are no longer looking at the keys.
Days 15 to 21: real words
Do the All Letters, Short Words and Common Words levels. Add five minutes a day on the top 200 words test. Play a word game such as Monkey Mango Hunt or Typing Racer.
Days 22 to 28: capitals, numbers and sentences
Finish the Shift, Numbers and Sentences levels. In practice, try weak-spot mode for five minutes a day.
Days 29 and 30: celebrate and plan ahead
Retake the words test and compare with day 1 on your stats page. Most people now type without looking, and many are already faster than when they started. From here, keep a lighter routine: 10 minutes of practice a day and one benchmark a week.

Questions and answers
Can you learn to touch type in 30 days?
Yes. With 15 to 20 minutes a day, most people learn every key by touch within a month. Speed keeps rising for months afterwards.
What if I miss a day?
Just continue the next day. Consistency over the month matters more than a perfect streak.
