Welcome to TypePlay, a free online typing-learning platform. By accessing or using TypePlay, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. About TypePlay
TypePlay provides an interactive typing-learning experience that includes guided lessons, typing practice, challenges, games, progress tracking, achievements, and other educational features.
TypePlay is designed to help learners develop typing skills progressively, from keyboard and finger fundamentals to typing words, sentences, and fluency.
2. Free Use and No Account Required
TypePlay can be used without creating an account or signing in.
You may use the available lessons, practice activities, and games without providing personal information to create a TypePlay account.
Some progress and preferences may be stored locally in your browser so that your learning experience can continue when you return to the website.
3. Educational Purpose
TypePlay is provided for typing education, learning, and practice.
Typing speed, WPM, accuracy, scores, XP, achievements, and other measurements provided by TypePlay are intended as learning and progress indicators. They may vary depending on your keyboard, device, browser, connection, typing technique, and other conditions.
TypePlay does not guarantee that using the platform will result in a particular typing speed, accuracy level, or other learning outcome.
4. Appropriate Use
You agree to use TypePlay responsibly and only for lawful purposes.
You must not:
- Attempt to disrupt or damage the website or its services.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to TypePlay systems or data.
- Abuse, exploit, or interfere with features of the website.
- Use the website for unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to circumvent reasonable technical or security measures.
5. Lessons, Practice, and Games
TypePlay's lessons, exercises, challenges, games, scoring systems, and learning content may be changed over time as the platform develops.
We may add, remove, modify, or improve lessons, games, features, curriculum content, scoring, or other functionality without notice.
Progress stored locally in your browser may also be affected by significant changes to the website or by clearing or changing your browser's stored data.
6. Typing Progress and Local Data
Because TypePlay does not currently require an account, certain information such as lesson progress, achievements, streaks, preferences, and typing statistics may be stored locally on your device.
You are responsible for maintaining your browser's stored data if you want to preserve locally saved progress.
Clearing website data, using private/incognito browsing, changing browsers or devices, or certain browser settings may cause locally stored TypePlay progress to be lost.
7. Intellectual Property
The TypePlay name, logo, branding, original lesson content, instructional materials, original graphics, user-interface designs, and other original TypePlay materials are owned by or licensed to TypePlay unless otherwise stated.
You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit TypePlay's proprietary content or branding without permission.
TypePlay may also incorporate open-source software, libraries, fonts, or other third-party materials. Those materials remain subject to their respective licenses and terms.
8. Open-Source Software
TypePlay uses open-source technologies and software components.
The use of open-source technologies does not necessarily mean that all TypePlay content, branding, curriculum, artwork, or other original materials are released under an open-source license.
Where specific TypePlay software or other materials are released under an applicable open-source license, that license governs the relevant material.
9. Third-Party Services
TypePlay may use third-party services for functions such as hosting, security, content delivery, analytics, advertising, consent management, or other website functionality.
Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, and practices. TypePlay is not responsible for the content, availability, policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.

TypePlay is designed to provide a child-friendly typing-learning experience and can be used by learners of different ages.
TypePlay does not require users to create an account to use the core learning experience.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children's use of online services according to their own circumstances and applicable requirements.
