Play Feed the Pet – Free Typing Game for Kids

TypePlay is a free typing website designed for beginners, kids, and professionals to learn touch typing. As an alternative to TypingClub, Monkeytype, Keybr, and Typing.com that combines lessons, practice, games, and progress tracking with no account required, TypePlay gives learners a simple, step-by-step way to become more confident typists.

Whether you're learning touch typing for the first time or working to improve your typing accuracy, consistency, and speed, TypePlay gives you a simple, step-by-step way to become a more confident typist.

Why TypePlay is Different from Other Typing Websites

Most typing websites specialize in one thing — a deep course, a fast test box, or a pile of games. TypePlay combines all three with privacy-first design:

What is TypePlay?

TypePlay is an online typing-learning platform for people who want to learn touch typing or improve their typing skills. It combines guided typing lessons, practice exercises, typing challenges, and typing games in one learning platform.

TypePlay teaches typing progressively, starting with keyboard and finger fundamentals and gradually moving through individual keys, key combinations, words, capitalization, numbers, symbols, sentences, and typing fluency.

It is designed to make typing practice simple, interactive, and encouraging, especially for beginners and younger learners.

What Makes TypePlay Different

TypePlay focuses on building proper typing technique from the ground up.

Instead of simply asking you to type faster, TypePlay guides you through a progressive learning journey. Lessons introduce keys and skills gradually, provide correct finger-placement guidance, and give you opportunities to practice what you've learned before moving on.

The goal is to build accuracy, consistency, and good typing habits first — speed comes naturally with practice.

Features

• Guided Lessons — Step-by-step lessons that introduce typing skills gradually with clear instructions and finger-placement guidance.
• Practice Modes — Practice letters, words, sentences, numbers, punctuation, and more as your skills develop.
• Typing Challenges — Apply the skills you've learned in focused typing challenges.
• Typing Games — Make practice more engaging with fun games designed around typing.
• Interactive Keyboard — An on-screen keyboard highlights the keys you need to use.
• Animated Hand Guide — Visual guidance helps you understand which finger to use for each key.
• Progress Tracking — See your typing progress and improve your accuracy and consistency over time.
• Achievements & Badges — Reach milestones and keep building your typing skills.
• Works Across Devices — Practice on desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile.
• No Account Required — Start practicing immediately without creating an account. Your progress can be saved locally in your browser.

Built for Learners

TypePlay is designed for beginners, kids, students, professionals, and anyone who wants to become a more confident typist.

Learning starts with the fundamentals — proper finger placement and individual keys — and gradually moves toward combinations, words, capitalization, numbers, symbols, sentences, and typing fluency.

Every step is designed to keep learning clear, approachable, and encouraging.

Learn. Practice. Challenge. Master.

TypePlay follows a simple learning philosophy:

Learn → Practice → Challenge → Master

Learn a new skill, practice it until it feels comfortable, put it to the test, and continue building from there.

Open Source

TypePlay is built with modern open-source technologies and a simple web architecture.

The platform uses vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with no unnecessary complexity, helping keep the experience fast, accessible, and focused on learning to type.
